Job Description

As a Purchasing Assistant for our construction division, you will help procure the materials needed for our builds—from bags of cement to office stationaries. You aren't responsible for the heavy lifting; your role is to handle the quotes, purchase orders, and follow-ups with suppliers. It is a process-driven role that combines administrative precision with professional coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Canvassing: Contact pre-approved suppliers via email to request price quotes for construction materials.
  • Purchase Orders (PO): Prepare POs based on the requests sent by the Site Engineer.
  • Delivery Tracking: Follow up with suppliers to ensure materials arrive on the project site on the scheduled date.
  • Invoice Matching: Check delivery receipts against purchase orders to ensure the quantities and prices are correct before sending them to Accounting.
  • Vendor Database: Keep an updated list of supplier contact details and their current price lists.

Job Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in Business, Management, or any related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in a clerical, purchasing, or administrative role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Intermediate MS Excel skills and comfort using email and chat apps for coordination.
  • Communication: Professional email etiquette and the ability to follow up firmly but politely with vendors.
  • Work Setup Readiness: Comfortable with a hybrid setup. On-site days in Taguig involve meeting with the site team for procurement planning.
