Job Description

The Junior Mechanical Design Engineer will join the Research & Development (R&D) team responsible for designing and optimizing mechanical systems and product components across CHC's manufacturing and technology subsidiaries. This role involves utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create detailed blueprints, conducting basic stress analysis, and supporting the prototyping and testing phases of new product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CAD Drafting & Modeling: Create and modify 2D drawings and complex 3D models of components and assemblies using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

  • Design Analysis: Perform basic engineering calculations, including tolerance stacking, material selection, and simple stress analysis to ensure design integrity and manufacturability.

  • Prototyping Support: Collaborate with the R&D technicians to oversee the construction and testing of prototypes, documenting test procedures and results.

  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), specification sheets, and revision control records.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, production teams, and procurement specialists to ensure designs are cost-effective and feasible for mass production.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Non-board passers are welcome to apply; a professional license (ME) is a plus.

  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in mechanical design, drafting, or product development. Relevant academic projects or internships are highly valued.

  • Technical Proficiency: Mandatory proficiency in at least one professional 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor). Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills, with a meticulous approach to detail and accuracy.

  • Work Setup Readiness: Must work on-site at the Taguig R&D facility to access specialized equipment, physically inspect prototypes, and collaborate directly with the lab team.
